Most people do not like packing for a trip, but of course, it is necessary because you need to bring things for your travel. Before packing, you must first know where you are headed, the weather of the place and the things that you will be doing. Important things such as medications, valuables, toiletries, and food should be kept in a separate bag where you can easily have accessed to.
Here are tips on how to pack your suitcase efficiently.
Know the weather. You must first know the weather of the particular place you are going to. You can quickly check out the news or the internet for the weather. Pack your coats, hats, boots, and mittens if it’s snowing. Pack your rain coat if it’s rainy season or your bathing suit if it’s summer.
Prepare what to wear each day. It is better to know how many days you are staying at your destination so you can plan ahead what to wear each day. Plan ahead, so you won’t be packing too much. It is okay if you pack less for you can always buy new clothes at your destination unless you’re saving. Packing less will also give you more space for you to place souvenirs or any other things that you will be buying along with your journey.
Place big clothes or things at the bottom of your suitcase. Putting large objects at the bottom of your suitcase would help you find your stuff easily.
Roll or Fold your clothes. Rolling your clothes will help save space, but it will cause your clothes to be heavier. Folding them will take up more space, but it will make your clothes light. If you plan on rolling your clothes, roll them as tight as possible. Fold your clothes along its natural seams first, then, roll them as flat as possible to avoid wrinkles.
Make use of your shoes. Use the inside of your shoes as an additional compartment. Put your socks or any small items in your shoes. It will help save space and contribute to maintaining the shape of your shoes.
Organize your suitcase. Make use of your folded or rolled clothes. Use them to divide or segregate your things. It can help you, later on, find your things in your suitcase faster.
Place fragile things in the middle. If you plan on bringing fragile items or maybe your laptop, put them in the center in between your clothes. In this way, they can’t get easily broken.
Put dresses on top. Place your formal clothes or any other necessary clothes on top of your suitcase so that it will be easier to get them out for hanging.
Plastic bags for your shoes. To protect your clothes from damage or dirt, place your shoes in plastic bags. This will also be easier for you to put away after taking them off.
Insert underwear or any other items in between spaces. Make use of gaps in between your things. It will fill up your suitcase, and it will also help avoid your stuff from moving too much while traveling.
